Lens Perspective

(Contact sheet for development lens perspective found in Outcome 2, page 16)

For this task i was asked to use different lenses to gain and understanding of how lens length affects perspective and how the aperture affects depth of field. I had to use 3 different lens lengths, 300mm70mm and 35mm. For each of these lenses i took 2 images, one at f5.6 and one at f22.  I had to use the same subject for each lens and use the smallest aperture the lens would allow… here are my results…

700m f.22

Here are the images i then went and took at home using the same techniques…

From this task i have discovered that the 18mm lens i used (wide angle lens)creates a steep perspective when close up (i also have another example of this which was my favorite image of the shoot i took).
Also my 70mm lens (which i used due to not have 50mm – standard lens) i found that it still sort of captured what the eye could see but also compressed the background.
And finally my 300mm (telephoto lens) compressed the distance which has created a dramatic affect around the tree. However the focus on this lens is not very good as i am new to using the lens and camera i am still trying to stop camera shake, however i did re-practice using this lens and created some great results as well as a great depth of field.
