Techniques and process 1B – Proposal – Shoot 1 – Post Processing

The aim of this task was to make a starting point  towards my proposal. The first technique i decided to use was Photoshop in post-process.
I shot these image using my home pop-up backdrop and natural lighting. The backdrop was not fully black therefore i had to alter the levels within the image amongst other alterations. I shot then in RAW and J.PG. However on my pc i can only edit J.PGs,therefore here are my results. I plan to re-edit the RAW filed when at university on the Macs.
When i have compared the images of before and after i can see a considerable difference within the images due to the alterations however the alterations have also added a darker saturation on the models face and enhanced the colour upon the cape. Due to this within the first image i decided to change the other to black and white to see if it could hide this affect, it did work however i still feel that the image looks slightly over edited. Therefore i need to control my shooting settings further and use a darker, more affective backdrop.
