Advanced Studio Practice 2B – Portfolio – Proposal images and Evaluation

Outcome 3 – Record of substantial body of work

I have chosen these 6 images as my final proposal series as i believe they express the issues of my subject the most clearly.
Through the development of my project i have explored different styles/ways in order to interpret how women are represented within the media. Unfortunately most of these test shoots were unsuccessful as they failed to meet the expectations of how i wanted to represent the false representation of women within the media. However test shoot 6 & 8 began to meet my potential final image idea. They have differentiated away from my original idea and focused more closely on particular magazine images and recreated them in order to represent how women are falsely represented within advertising.

These images represent how ridiculous advertising images are and how misleading they are to the audience. The recreation of doll like objectification women stands out more unnaturally now as the women used within the images isn’t young, skinny and flawless like what is represented in the influential magazine images.

These images stand out more clearly raising the issues of my project and that is why i have selected them as the final images for my series of work.
