Advanced Techniques and Process 2B – Photoshop Skills – Frequency separation/post production

Outcome – 1 and 3

The aim of this task was to understand and develop how to edit portraits within Photoshop using certain tools and techniques.

I met the aims of the task, however i did struggle using the frequency separation techniques. I like the affect it gives the overall image however i just need to practice more on how to use it subtly and how to incorporate other skills and techniques.

I tested the frequency separation techniques on 3 images, i wasn’t very successful upon using it. However i am going to continue to try and succeed within this editing style.

My Development:

Moving on from frequency separation i decided to try and use tools within Photoshop which i felt comfortable using.
My brief was focused on strong/striking/technically correct fashion portraits therefore i decided to edit my chosen portraits in order to make them more desirable and appealing and portray fashion portrait styles.
