Advanced Techniques and Process 2B – AOP Student Awards – Image Entry Choices

Outcome – 1

The brief for this project was to create fashion portraits which advertised charity shop props.

‘The resulting image should be striking, graphic and beautiful. The aim is that the viewer is surprised when they learn that the props came from a charity shop.’

For this brief i decided to buy accessories and create beauty/fashion portraits. I worked alongside models and make up artists in order to create high standard portraits. All images were shot within a studio environment in order for the models and props to look striking and beautiful.

The images i have selected below are the potential entry images i have to chose from. I have chosen these images because;
– they are the most technically correct out of the 7 test shots
– they are the images which present the props to look expensive and stylish
– they are strongly composed and present the overall style as beautiful

Narrowing down this choice by selection. I have taken out the first two images due to post-production usage. I am happy with how the images are composed and how they present the props however i am worried that the editing i have had to do with the skin tone will be too noticeable within print and not let the image meet the high standard of which it needs to be.
