Specialist Technique and Process 3 – Test Shoot 5

The aim of this shoot was to re-create test shoot 4 by using a different camera kit in order to produce higher quality images.

Within this shoot i changed a few things. I photographed this at night and used a soft box. My aim was to photograph using a tripod to make sure images were sharp and focused and not effected by camera shake however i was missing a piece of equipment therefore i wasn’t able to use it. I positioned my speed light on a light stand and mount and added a soft box i placed it to my right hand side directed towards the model. Due to the way i positioned the light it cast a side shadow on the white wall.

Once again the quality of the images is not as high as i would have liked. However looking over my proposal and my test ideas i have come to the conclusion that this is because i am unsure on what i want to photograph and what style i want to do it in.

I then went on to test another idea i had for another subject in order to capture their quirky personality. I photographed using direct harsh flash and am happy with the lighting result. I am also happy with the overall look of the images however they represent more of a fashion style shoot to me than just portraiture. I think this is the route i want to start exploring.

Unfortunately one if the images is out of focus and soft.
